Beginnings are always difficult for me...so naturally, starting this blog is somewhat of a struggle. I never intended to start blogging...for many reasons I guess. I've kept up with friends' blogs and loved the opportunity to glimpse into their lives, experience funny situations they go through, or even read about their thoughts on different topics. When I think about the reasons I haven't been able to do it myself, the one that always gets in my way is finding something interesting to say.
I've always been that quiet girl...the one who rarely initiates a conversation and who would rather listen and observe others than have all eyes on her. I guess growing up this way has always made me believe that my stories and my thoughts aren't nearly as interesting as my more outgoing friends. My friend Lindsey recently opened my eyes up to see otherwise. She reminded me of all the amazing experiences and opportunities God has blessed me with in my life...from hikes through the Alaskan wilderness, boat rides up the Amazon River in Peru, and even adventures to remote villages in Ethiopia! Sometimes it's crazy to me to think about all the lies this world and Satan have led me to believe.
So, I've decided to start this blog in an attempt to prove to myself that I do have something interesting to say....to prove that even a shy girl like me has stories that people want to hear! I've named my blog "Discovering me" because I feel that every past situation God has led me through, as well as every future one I have yet to experience, has and will continue to mold and make me into the woman of God that I was meant to be.
